Partner Grant Funds

Partner Pooled Fund
The Partner Pooled Fund is our core fund and the main source of funding for the nonprofit grants we provide. Grants from this fund are awarded through our dynamic New Grants Process, and each of our Partners contributes a minimum of $5,000 per year to the fund.

Designated Grant Funds
BC SVP typically takes one new Grantee per cycle. However, on occasion there is a runner-up that clearly has great potential, and a Partner interested in leading it.

Then, one or more Partners will choose to contribute over and above their $5,000 and create a Designated Grant Fund for this promising project. The group receives the same level of coaching, support and evaluation as for all Grantees. Last year, about half of our Grantees were funded in this way.

The BC Social Enterprise Fund
One special example of a Designated Grant Fund is the BC Social Enterprise Fund (BC SEF), which was created in 2005 to provide capital grants to second-stage social enterprises. The first fund of its kind in Canada, it was created through a partnership between BC SVP, Vancity and Vancouver Foundation.

Seeing an opportunity to contribute to the development of social enterprise in BC, several individual Partners donated the funds that constitute BC SVP's contribution to this ground-breaking Fund.

Donor Advised Funds
Partners can create personalized Donor Advised Funds. BC SVP takes care of the administration of the fund, leaving the donor free to focus on their personal philanthropic goals. For more information, please contact us.
